Vision
 


The long-term view of the branch of surgery is to lay the foundations for the formation of an advanced center for the various branches of surgical medicine to provide advanced medical and surgical services to the community in addition to the primary function of seed implantation among students at various stages to produce a generation of doctors with a high level of information and surgical skills.
 


Mission

 

They are achieved through the following :
General Curricula :
1. Acquiring the scientific background, including anatomy, physiology and pathology, that undergraduate students need to understand the various functional disorders that they encounter and their relationship to surgical cases.
2. Explaining and interpreting the basic principles of surgery for students, including the influence of nature and social factors in causing some surgical diseases.
3. Explaining the role of each organ in the body, its disorders and its relationship to the different body systems.

 


Objectives
 


The surgery branch aims to graduate doctors with knowledge of the principles of surgery and sound medical ethical foundations able to diagnose and treat basic surgical cases, especially emergency
 


Clinical goals
 


The third stage: introducing students to the basics of surgery, such as intravenous fluids, the balance of salts in the body, blood types, giving blood, and wound healing.
The fourth stage: introducing students to the method of taking, writing and presenting the disease history, performing and recording a general examination of the body, introducing them to common and important laboratory tests, and using the above to reach a diagnosis of the disease.
Fifth stage: dealing with outpatient and consulting patients, including accident cases, in various subspecialties of surgery, such as eyes, ear, nose, and throat.
Sixth stage: Preparing students with the following:
Clinical education to gain the necessary experience to take the medical history, carry out a clinical examination, evaluate cases and record all previous information.
Clinical skills The student must be able to conduct various tests and display clinical signs in addition to conducting some simple laboratory analyzes that serve the process of logical analysis of the pathological condition for the purpose of presenting the possibilities of the causes and proposing the necessary examination and providing the appropriate treatment to achieve the main goal, which is the first day doctor.
