A master's thesis at the College of Medicine, University of Basrah COVID-19 pandemic in Iraq: comparative studies on demographic, geographic and temporal patterns. The research presented by the student Zahraa Yassin Issa aims to document the three main aspects of the epidemiological situation, the demographic characteristics of the affected people, the temporal trend and geographical patterns with specific reference to cases of infection, case fatality and deaths in Iraq and other comparison countries. The research concluded that the COVID-19 pandemic was peculiar in every aspect of epidemics. It covered almost all regions of the world and caused a large number of cases and deaths. It exposed major flaws in the global healthcare systems and we are still hoping to contain this unexpected event.
