The College of Medicine, University of Basrah, held a scientific conference on Arthroscopic surgery and joint transplantation for the period 25_26/3/2022 under the patronage of the President of Basrah University, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, Director General of Basrah Health Department, Dr. Abbas Khalaf Al-Tamimi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Murtadha Mohammed Salih Al-Musafer and Dean of the College Al-Zahra Medicine, Prof. Dr. Mazin Hawaz Abdul-Ridha, in cooperation with the Joint Transplant Center in Basrah. The conference aims to evaluate and develop the performance of surgeons, especially orthopedics and fractures, in addition to scientific and practical progress to provide the best treatment services by the university. The conference included a special and important lecture on knee joint infections and knowing their causes and how to diagnose and treat them surgically. With these infections and how to facilitate the surgeon's task in dealing with the complications that accompany knee joint implants. The modern methods used in diagnosis and treatment methods were discussed. The conference also included a special workshop on how to raise the inflamed knee joint with the application of a temporary paste and a temporary joint to deal in the future with a full joint replacement. The conference dealt with how to identify the researcher's strengths and weaknesses and how to develop himself. The difficult and difficult cases and how to solve them were presented, in addition to developing the scientific production of the academic professor through the research he presented at the scientific conference. The conference was attended by many participants from the governorates of Iraq from Sulaymaniyah, Dhi Qar and Baghdad, in cooperation with the Arab Fellowship for Joint Surgery and Transplantation.
