The college  of Medicine / University of Basra held a meeting for the  teaching committee of the first stage, chaired by the assistant dean for student affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Khattar Moussa, and the members of the committee to discuss how to improve the level of teaching.The first stage , where it was proposed to establish a second anatomy laboratory to cover the teachings  needs providing it with all equipments and finding  a suitable place for it within the college building, provide examination stations and the required bones and cadavers , expand the existing laboratory, and use the sports hall in the future.As well as making an ongoing explanatory video for students during the break to develop their skills, in addition to expanding the teaching staff and  assess proposals by graduate doctors, encouraging enrolment in the basic branches, increasing allocations, and providing health doctors support , especially orthopaedic doctors and post graduate students. An organised schedule of theoretical lectures and practical lectures was also drafted with the approval of students, with the provision of break days between the training days for students and teachers, with the possibility of paying overtime wages to those who were assigned to teach.
