Basra University launched the comprehensive virtual library. which connects all college libraries with the university's central library within a single electronic platform.

The purpose of establishing the comprehensive virtual library system is  to allow  university teachers and students to make benefit from all available resources and books using their official university accounts within the UMS electronic university administration system.

It is noteworthy that the electronic university management system UMS was launched two years ago with the student affairs management system SIS and other new systems were added to the virtual library of this system, noting that all these systems were designed by the university's software staff  and under the direct supervision of the university president, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi.
