A study to obtain a higher diploma at the College of Medicine at Basra University discussed the maternal mortality rate in Basra's main and sub-hospitals from 2014-2018 by student Rana Tawfiq. The research aims to know the percentage of maternal deaths around childbirth as well as the causes of death, even if it is of the type that can be avoided first. The research concluded that the number of maternal deaths is still largely due to acute postpartum hemorrhage and around it, but in general the percentage is still parallel to neighboring countries. The research recommended the need to focus on care. Primary health and the need to visit pregnant women to monitor pregnancy and childbirth in major hospitals.
