The Internal Medicine Department at the College of Medicine / University of Basra organized a workshop on skills in using evidence-based medicine.  The workshop was held in Al Zahra Hall in the College of Medicine and aims to educate and train doctors in scientific research, reading and analyzing academic medical publications.  The workshop included lectures and small discussion groups, which were divided into five sessions.  The first session discussed evidence-based medicine, the second discussed the fundamentals of medical statistics, the third discussed the formation of the clinical question, the fourth discussed research in medical databases, and the fifth free assessment
