A study at the College of Medicine at Basra University discussed the benefit of closing the tonsil gap after the tonsillectomy operation of the student Muhannad Mahdi Yassin. The research was submitted to the Arab Board of Medical Specializations and dealt with the effect of closing the tonsil gap after tonsillectomy on the severity of pain and bleeding after the operation. The research concluded that closing the tonsil gap reduces the intensity of pain after tonsillectomy.
