Within its policy of developing students' skills .... The University of Basrah organises an interactive lecture on renal function tests

The college of Medicine at the University of Basrah organised an interactive lecture on renal function tests delivered by Prof. Dr. Nizar Samir Haddad. The lecture included the application of a new modified approach to group learning by creating small groups of 6 people. During the lecture, the patient's case paper was read and analysed and students were allowed to look at the list of tests for each patient and determine what suits them to reach the correct diagnosis. This approach is not limited to discussing the case but extends to allow them to read the chart and try to interpret it. This made the lecture more interactive and kept students oriented all the time.
