In conjunction with the Prime Minister's initiative to plant five million trees and palm trees and in implementation of the plan of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the at the University of Basrah - College of Medicine started the National Tree Planting Day campaign to restore and improve the college gardens.
The campaign aims to increase green spaces and provide suitable climates and environment for students, as a number of areas were planted with evergreen grass and the gardens were decorated with flowers and trees that are resistant to harsh environmental conditions and high temperatures in the Summer.
The campaign included planting many seedlings of various varieties.
This step comes as an opportunity to create and establish the principles of tree planting and collective work to eliminate desertification and increase the beauty of the college and the city, as well as developing the principles of patriotism.
