The University of Basrah- College of Medicine signs a twinning and joint cooperation agreement with the Southern Technical University - Technical and Administrative College.

 In a qualitative step aimed at developing the academic level and strengthening institutional cooperation, a twinning and joint cooperation agreement was signed between the University of Basrah - College of Medicine and the Southern Technical University -  The Technical and Administrative College at the Southern Technical University location, in the presence of the President of the Southern Technical University. The agreement was signed by Assistant Prof. Dr. Zaid Alaa Hussein; the Dean of the Technical and Administrative College, and Prof. Dr. Nawfal Ali Mubarak; the Dean of the University of Basrah - College of Medicine, and in the presence of numbers of academic and administrative members from both Colleges. The agreement aims to open new horizons for cooperation and to develop educational and research programs. The agreement includes several points like; the field of teaching, training, and joint development of curricula, which includes the exchange of books, scientific resources, and databases; holding training workshops to develop the skills of the College members and technicians; cooperation in summer training for students; joint supervision of graduation projects; joint use of laboratories and workshops; and developing of electronic - learning fields. In addition to the field of scientific research, the two Colleges will conduct joint specialized researches, scientifically evaluate researches, organize joint scientific conferences and seminars, supervise and discuss postgraduate student researches, support scientific promotions, exchange resources and laboratories, organize specialized courses, and provide access to scientific journals and theses. This agreement reflects the two institutions' desire to enhance academic and research integration, in order to benefit students and scientific community in Basrah Governorate and the south of Iraq in general.
