An emergency surgery was performed under the leadership of the head of the surgical team, the Dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Basrah, Professor Dr. Nawfal Ali Al-Mubarak, on a 28-year-old man suffering from bleeding and abdominal swelling. The operation, which took two and a half hours and was performed at 6:30 on Monday, July 14, 2025, revealed the presence of multiple clots that led to the interruption of blood flow to a section of the small intestine. These clots were removed by a distinguished team of surgeons, including consultant surgeon Anas Youssef, surgeon Sadiq Qasim, and board students Dr. Oras Sabah and Dr. Safa Muhammad. The patient was discharged to intensive care under close observation.
