Dean of the College of Medicine Participates in the Medical Detachment Launched by the University of Basrah to Serve the Imam Hussein Walkway at the Garmat Ali Site

The Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Nawfal Ali Al-Mubarak, participated in supervising the launch of the medical detachment to serve the visitors of Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him). This is part of its humanitarian and medical initiatives to support the million-person march, which includes an integrated team of doctors, nurses, and students of medical and health colleges to provide treatment services and first aid to visitors heading towards the holy Karbala. Al-Mubarak emphasized that this initiative comes within the framework of the societal role undertaken by the University of Basrah, which prides itself on serving the visitors of Imam Hussein and is keen to harness its medical and scientific capabilities to provide the best health services to the walkers. The detachment’s services include examining and treating emergency cases, providing free medicines, following up on chronic cases, in addition to health awareness for visitors, while providing medical equipment and first aid supplies around the clock throughout the visit. This initiative is part of a series of activities organized annually by the University of Basra to serve the community and promote the spirit of human solidarity on religious and national occasions.
