
A master's thesis in the Basrah University - College of Medicine discussed the type of androgenic substances (testosterone or DHEA sulfate) that could cause the hirsutism in women with PCOS. The thesis presented by the student Hussam Jihad Amraan aims to determine which androgen predicts hirsutism in women with PCOS, is it testosterone or DHEA sulfate? . The thesis concluded that the calculated FT is a valuable marker and thus can be used as a screening test for the presence of hirsutism in women with PCOS.
