The College of Medicine, University of Basrah, organized the second scientific conference for postgraduate students in the group of biomedical colleges on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nabil Kazim, and under the supervision of the President of Basrah University, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and headed by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Mortada Muhammad Salih the passenger. The conference dealt with students’ research in postgraduate studies and how to present their work and encourage breaking the barrier of fear for them to participate in local and international conferences. The conference was attended by only postgraduate students from masters and doctorate degrees in medical specialties, in cooperation with doctors from UK represented by Dr. Amer Al-Saffar. The conference met with great resonance in the research and scientific circles inside and outside Iraq because it matures the students’ research and helps them in the discussion before they reach the stage of writing the research and drawing conclusions and the resulting patents or products that may be harnessed as medical products for community service. The conference was attended by the Scientific Assistant to the President of the University and a number of members of the University Council. The conference was also attended by many important personalities represented by the First Deputy Governor of Basrah, Eng. Muhammad Taher Al-Tamimi, Director General of Basrah Health directorate, Dr. Abbas Al-Tamimi, and Basrah Operations Commander Major General Ali Abdul-Hussein Al-Majidi.
