The University of Basrah tops the rest of the universities in the Times classification for sustainable development for the year 2022

The University of Basrah topped the rest of the Iraqi universities in the Times World Classification of Sustainable Development for the year 2022, where it got the first Iraqi place. It is worth mentioning that the teaching assistant in the Department of Surgery at the Basrah College of Medicine, Assistant Professor Dr. Abbas Abdul-Zahra Al-Hasani, is a member of the International Classification Committee at the University of Basrah. The Department of Public Relations and Information at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research stated in a statement followed by the College of Medicine that “the published official results indicated an increase in the number of Iraqi universities and colleges that booked their positions in the Times classification for sustainable development to forty-seven, topped by the University of Basrah, which ranked (301-400) globally. Then the University of Babylon (401-600) and the University of Baghdad (401-600), while the College of the Future won the sequence (801-1000).It should be noted that the British Times classification for sustainable development works on evaluating universities by achieving several United Nations goals out of 17 goals, including quality of education, health and well-being, partnerships, industry and innovation.
