Attending the Clinician's Engagement Program (CEP)



 

As part of the ministry's plan to develop teaching staff in colleges in general and the medical colleges in particular and its interest in the role of the Iraqi doctor in community health and global health and the need to serve the community.

The meeting   Of Clinician's Engagement Program (CEP)in international health programs was attended, including programs to reduce and control biological threats, which include bacterial, viral , fungal infections , and other biological threats .

The attendees were headed and directly supervised by Dr. Ali Hamid Kazem Al-Shakri, Undersecretary of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Administrative Affairs, as well as the committees of deans of medical colleges and deans of nursing colleges in Iraq.

The program was held in Dubai for the period 8-11 for three consecutive days. Biological threats and dangers were highlighted and how to include them in the curricula of students of the colleges of medicine and nursing in theory, practical and clinical terms.

The concept of one health was also highlighted, as the health of the individual in any society may affect the rest of the people in the rest of the societies and what happened in the epidemic of COVID-19 and the spread of the disease from China to the rest of the world is a good example for that concept .

The concept of international health regulations was also highlighted

The following recommendations were made:

1-A one-week intensive course for students in the sixth stage by teachers from the branches of microbiology, community medicine, and internal medicine.

2-Strengthening the vocabulary of the curriculum related to environmental threats and biological danger from the first stage upwards

3-Strengthening the scientific research plan with research on biothreats

At the two levels - graduate and primary studies

4-Highlight the concepts of the

International health regulations and one health

And including it in the curriculum

5-The establishment of the National Centre for Dealing with Biological threats

6- Electronic documentation and accreditation of

Electronic medical recording since its

Being used in many countries and makes it easier to detect and deal with epidemics

7- Using modern methods to teach and train students on biological threats, such as the use of dolls with biological threats simulators (Medical models)

8-Developing laboratories and providing them with modern equipment to facilitate the diagnostic process

The Undersecretary of Higher Education also insisted on the establishment of the rest of the workshops to train teachers in Basra because of the great role and international reputation of Basra, especially after it hosted Gulf Cup 25.
