The University of Basrah ranked second in the world in the innovation classification WURI ( World Universities Ranking for Innovation) in the axis of crisis management, in which two universities participated from Iraq.

The University of Basrah ranked 201 - 300 globally in the South Korean (WURI) ranking of 2023, which was called the ranking of world universities with real and influential ranking according to the creative universities program.

The President of the University, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, presented the axis of crisis management electronically with a live broadcast addressed to the US state of Florida, which was considered the best global presentation.
