The Dean of the college of Medicine ,  University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Murtadha Mohammed Saleh Al-Musafer, attended a meeting on the accreditation of medical colleges in Iraq by the World Federation for Medical Education.

Attendees discussed the possibility of accreditation of medical colleges in Iraq and ways to obtain recognition by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME).

The meeting was attended by the Head of the Supervising Authority of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Iraq, Prof. Dr. Saleh Al-Fatlawi, the Chairman of the Deans Committee, Mr. Anis Nael , the deans of the Medical colleges in Iraq and the National Accreditation Council for Medical Colleges in Jordan.

It is noteworthy that earlier, the World Federation for Medical Education revealed the inclusion of the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Schools in Iraq within the international regulation eligible for international accreditation.

Where the official website of the Union showed  Iraq in the list of countries whose councils and competent bodies have achieved the necessary requirements for international accreditation and are now eligible to be present in the world map of councils that make their way towards international accreditation from (WFME).
