Within the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the application of the Ministry's government program, which includes the (Study in Iraq) program, and through the directives of the Presidency of the University of Basrah and its relentless follow-up to the program, the college of Medicine - University of Basrah conducted an interview with foreign students applying within the mentioned program to obtain scholarships to obtain preliminary and higher degrees on Sunday, 18 / 6 / 2023 through the zoom program and on the college council hall at ten in the morning local time and in the presence and supervision of the President of the University of Basrah - Professor Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi and Dean of the College of Medicine Prof. Dr. Murtadha Mohammed Saleh Almusafer and The Director of the Department of Cultural Relations at the Presidency of the University of Basrah and the members of the committee formed to meet students.Where students applying for preliminary studies were interviewed with eleven students from different countries to obtain a bachelor's degree in medicine and general surgery and students who were enrolled in postgraduate studies with one student to obtain a master's degree in biochemistry and one student to obtain a doctorate in medical microbiology from the Kingdom of Jordan. The interview, which was conducted in English after reviewing in advance the students' files sent by the Department of Missions and Cultural Relations at the Presidency of the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Electronic Computing Centre, included knowing the curriculum viability and the extent of their mastery of the English language, welcoming them and encouraging them to study in our college and giving advice on the requirements of studying

Through the questions addressed to the students to know how didi they know our university and the desire to apply to our college the answer was that Basrah University is one of the oldest universities in the region and obtaining advanced positions in international classifications and sustainable development was an incentive for us to apply in addition to the level of distinguished Iraqi doctor and the ancient medicine in Iraq.

It is worth mentioning that the mentioned program is one of the necessary and important programs in order to uphold the academic reputation of our universities and obtain advanced positions within the international classifications and the need to publish the distinguished scientific level in the region and the world. The interviews are supposed to continue for another day as well
