The College of Medicine, University of Basra, in cooperation with the Basra Health Department and the AstraZeneca Pharmaceutical Company, held a scientific symposium on diseases of the digestive system, entitled the Day of the Diseases of the Digestive System. The seminar, which was held at the Minawi Pasha Hotel, was attended by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, Assistant Professor Dr. Qais Kadhim  Al-Mousawi, and a group of specialists in gastroenterology and surgery, as well as teachers of the College of Medicine. Assistant Professor Nuri Hanoune, a teaching officer at the College of Medicine, stated that the symposium discussed scientific lectures and research on diseases of the digestive system, as the symposium consisted of two sessions, each session included four lectures, and that the aim of the symposium is to review the latest developments in this field, which leads to the development of methods of diagnosis and treatment of these Ailments.
