The Educational Guidance and Psychological Guidance Unit at the college of Medicine, in cooperation with the Center for Educational Guidance and Psychological Care at the University of Basra, organized a scientific symposium.

The first axis of the symposium included a good reception for the academic year, where Dr. Duha Khalil Ismail gave a lecture entitled: Study smartly and be the owner of an advanced plan,  where she prospered methods of good planning and time management, how to effectively attend lectures, and how to prepare optimally for exams to obtain optimal results.

The second axis dealt with confronting the deviant ideas of the university youth, where the teacher Hassan Shaaban gave a lecture on the value conflict among the college youth, the concept of values and the sources of planting these values and principles in the individual, and the value conflict that results from the different environments and how to confront them.

The third axis was on gender, between science, religion, politics and its negative effects, presented by Dr. Abdul Salam Mustafa.
