The Dean of the college of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Murtadha Mohammed Saleh Al-Musafer, attended the University Council, which was held under the chairmanship of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hamadi, and the assistants of the President of the University, in the presence of all members of the Council.

The Council held its session in the  of the center dedicated to marine science for scientific research and revitalizing the marshes and within the university's plan to develop its facilities and serve the community in order to prepare for the exams of the end of the semester or the first course that will be held next week and to prepare specialized committees on this subject.

The opening of some traditional industries and others was discussed in this center to revive the region and benefit from it economically for the people of the region. The river transport initiative was also generalized to conduct trips daily or weekly to revive this turf and to enrich the scientific research that will be carried out by all colleges, as well as to establish field travels for university students or school students because of its importance and aesthetics in Basrah Governorate.
