A scientific and cultural cooperation agreement was signed between the College of Medicine at the University of Basrah and the Iraqi Society for Medical Research and Studies in order to cooperate in achieving common goals in developing and disseminating scientific research and medical and health education and training.  It was agreed to exchange experiences, information, and visits in the medical and health fields, and to participate and cooperate in seminars, conferences, workshops, and all other scientific and training activities. In addition to exchanging research, books, bulletins, magazines, and scientific periodicals.

 The Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Murtadha Mohammed Saleh Al-Musafer, spoke about the agreement that was signed, stating that the College of Medicine desires to  enhance and strengthen scientific and cultural relations with the  Iraqi Society for Medical Research and Studies, as the agreement stipulated the establishment of joint projects and events in the fields of research, scientific, development, training, and culture.

 According to the agreement, mutual media support will be provided for scientific activities on websites, bulletins, and periodicals for both parties.
