The ministerial committee tasked with evaluating the reality of medical colleges in the southern region, composed of lecturers from the College of Medicine at the University of Basrah, Professor Dr. Samer Abdul Amir and Professor Dr. Susan Al-Haroun, visited the College of Medicine at the University of Sumer, where the committee reviewed the reality of the college building, its scientific facilities, the teaching and functional staff in the college, the number of students benefiting from it, the readiness of classrooms and laboratories for basic and clinical subjects, and comparing them with what was available a year ago and the extent of development in all axes.

At the end of the visit, the committee praised the efforts of the university presidency and its diligent follow-up to provide everything the medical college needs. It also praised the role of the Deanship of the College of Medicine and the efforts of the college's lecturers in developing medical education in order to provide medical and scientific information to all college students
