A board research in the College of Medicine, University of Basrah, discussed the criteria for the corneal endothelium after successful phaco surgery. The research presented by the student Ayat Ahmed Arabi aims to study the changes in some criteria for the corneal endothelium after phaco cataract surgery in a sample of Iraqi patients visiting Ibn Al-Haytham Teaching Eye Hospital, as the corneal endothelium is similar to the corneal spirit, and any negative effect on this layer can lead to disruption of the corneal endothelium. With the continuous increase in phaco cataract surgeries, this risk increases. The research concluded that the cell density decreased significantly after three months of phaco cataract surgery, with associated changes in hexagonality, and the smallest and largest cell size
