The Dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Basrah, Professor Dr. Qais Kazim Baqir, attended the first closed morning and evening session of the University Council for the new academic year at the College of Education for Pure Sciences, headed by Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazim, and attended by his assistants for scientific and administrative affairs and members of the University Council.

The Council discussed many matters related to the scientific and administrative aspects of the university and listed on its agenda, and the implementation of ministerial directives and instructions of the Opinion Board was emphasized.

The Council also discussed topics related to postgraduate studies and issued instructions to teaching and functional staff regarding the new academic year, in continuation of the development and advancement of the university's scientific progress.
