A lecturer at the College of Medicine at the University of Basra publishes an original research in an international journal within the Scopus containers

 

The lecturer at the College of Medicine at the University of Basrah, Professor Dr. Abbas Abdul Zahra Al-Hasani, published an original research on parents’ knowledge and concerns about chronic constipation in children in the journal Issues of Pediatric Dietetics, which is published in Russia within the Scopus containers. This is within the scientific activities of the Department of Pediatric Surgery for the year 2024 in the Department of Surgery. The research included talking about chronic constipation in the pediatric age group as one of the major health problems that has a significant impact on both the child and the family. In most cases, constipation has no identifiable organic (functional) cause, but there are certainly many serious medical and surgical conditions that must be taken into account. The research aims to analyze parents’ knowledge and concerns about the problem of chronic constipation in their children. The research concluded that chronic constipation in children has a significant impact on the quality of life of parents and is a cause for concern, and that the duration of constipation is affected by the parents’ education level and family income.
