The University of Basrah - College of Medicine, organized a workshop on advanced and primitive fire-fighting systems for the College members in cooperation with the Civil Defense Directorate in Basrah Governorate. During the workshop, a lecture was given on the principles of civil defense, an explanation of fire extinguishers, and practical training provided by Lieutenant Colonel Tayseer, Director of Training at the Civil Defense Directorate. The lecture discussed many aspects of safety and prevention of fires in order to spread the knowledge of buildings evacuation and dealing with fires, identifying the types of extinguishers and how to operate them, and the procedures that must be followed in the event of accidents.
