A master's thesis at the University of Basrah / College of Medicine,  discussed the Immunomolecular Study of Transforming Growth Factor -β1, Interferon Gamma: genes polymorphism, with aspect of some immunological markers in Autism Spectrum Disorder children in Basrah. The thesis presented by the student Khulood Abdulrazzaq Khaleel aims to detect plasma levels of human transforming growth factor beta-1 (TGFβ-1), Gamma interferon (IFN-γ) and Anti-Myelin Basic Protein (AMBP) by means of an enzyme-linked immunoassay (ELISA). The thesis concluded that there is a positive relationship between the presence of viral infection of human herpes virus type B (HHV-6B) and the level of concentration of human transducer TGFβ-1 in the plasma patients with Autism.
