Historical Overview and Goals of Consulting Medical Center of University of Basrah

Historical overview:

The consulting medical center reopened its doors back in 2013, and the work resumed on 2/6/2013 after receiving a confirmation from ministry of higher education and scientific research. The medical consulting center is based on the law of scientific and consulting services offices of the ministry of higher education and scientific research No. 7 of 1997.

 

 Vision, mission and goals:

  • The vision:

 Health and psychological stability for the community with guaranteed health protection.

  • The message of the consulting medical center:

The center got a supreme message To enhance the role of the university to serve the community by supporting citizens health and the provision of an appropriate healthy environment eliminate the justifications for the spread of diseases as well as reducing the burden and trouble for citizens with high professionalism.

  • The consulting medical center’s goals:
  1. Achieving the missions that marked by the instructions No. 65 of 1993.
  2. Providing comprehensive health care to the citizens.
  3. Providing health support to government institutions and the private sector in various aspects of health prevention, environmental protection and occupational safety
  4. Providing treatment services in all its forms and each according to his specialization, which contributes to ending the suffering of the patient and achieving recovery.
  • Means of achieving goals:
  1. Providing various medical specialties, highest degrees, certificates and the highest levels of expertise for facilitating the process of medical consultation between doctors.
  2. Providing advanced diagnostic tools and the use of modern medical technologies that accelerate the diagnosis of the disease.
  3. Provide the appropriate and integrated environment for treatment, according to the specializations with the provision of an operating room, intervention room and dressing room for surgical specialties.
  4. The contribution of consultants from outside the university to provide an opportunity to raise the level of the profession as well as for citizens to benefit from doctors.
  5. Hosting doctors from outside Iraq to reduce the trouble of citizen travel.
