The University of Basrah -  College of Medicine organized a workshop on advanced and primitive Fire-Fighting systems for members of the College of Medicine in cooperation with the Directorate of Civil Defense in Basrah. During the workshop, an lecture was given on the principles of civil defense, an explanation of fire extinguishers, and practical exercises presented by Lieutenant-Colonel Tayseer, the manager of Training in the Directorate of Civil Defense. The lecture included many aspects related to safety and prevention to learn the principle of evacuating buildings and dealing with fires, introducing the types of extinguishers, how to deal with them, and the procedures to be followed in case of accidents.
