Board's research at the college of Medicine, University of Basra, discussed a prosy Study of Gut Hormones(Glucagon Like Peptide-1 and Ghrelin) Changes and Metabolic Changes after commonest Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgeries. The research presented by student Noura Fatah Jabbar aims to explore the early results of the most common bariatric surgeries and compare their effect on metabolism and bowel hormones (grelin and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1). The research concluded that bariatric and metabolic surgery has clearly beneficial metabolic changes in the early postoperative period in conjunction with significant changes in ghrelin and GLP-1 that may partly explain the potential metabolic effect of these gastrointestinal processes. There is a significant decrease in the level of ghrelin in all processes but in the further decrease in LSG the increase in GLP-1 was greater in single-linking pathway conversion.
