The Microbiology Branch at the College of Medicine of Basra University, under the patronage of the President of Basra University, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, held a scientific symposium on the foundations and developments of Corona virus. 
The symposium included four lectures, the first discussed methods of infection and spread of the Coronavirus, the second the clinical symptoms of the disease, the third methods of diagnosing it, while the fourth dealt with methods of prevention. The Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ismail Al-Hamdi, the faculty and staff of the College of Medicine, and graduate and undergraduate students participated in the symposium.
