Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at the college of Medicine, University of Basrah, Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Khattar Moussa, gave a scientific lecture entitled (Crimea-Congo Haemo Haemorrhagic Fever).
The lecture was presented at the Basrah Oil Company Hospital for Cardiac Surgery and interventional cardiology targeting healthcare and nursing staff.
The lecture included an introduction to Crimean fever disease, which is infectious viral disease endemic in Iraq and a number of countries and Hard ticks is considered the main carrier of this virus.
He explained that the most important ways to prevent this virus are wearing gloves and other protective clothing while dealing with animals or their tissues, and the need to keep animal sheds away from places of residence, and regular spraying animals with pesticides before slaughtering them.
