The  University of Basrah - College of Medicine organized a workshop on advanced and primitive fire-fighting systems for members of the College in cooperation with the Directorate of Civil Defense in Basrah Governorate.  The workshop was attended by the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs; Assistant Prof Dr. Qais Kadhim Baqer. During the workshop, a lecture on the principles of civil defense , an explanation of fire extinguishers, practical exercises presented by  Lieutenant-Colonel Tayseer (Manager of Training in the Directorate of Civil Defense), discussion on the safety and building evacuation, introduction to types of fire-types of extinguishers, were given.
