The Radiology Division / Surgery department  at the college  of Medicine, University of Basra, and under the auspices of the President of the University, Prof. Saad Shaheen Hamadi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the college  of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Murtadha Mohammed Saleh Al-Musafer, in cooperation with the Internal Medicine department in medicine and nursing colleges and  Basrah health department  held a scientific symposium that included two axes, where the first axis dealt with the multiple clinical aspects of dementia and discussed the different diagnostic methods used by radiologists using computed tomography and nuclear medicine. The most common cases of dementia were discussed. The importance of cooperation between the treating doctor and radiologists was emphasized, which includes the importance of mentioning the patient to reach the  best results As for the second axis, some distinctive cases were presented that were diagnosed by radiology doctors using various devices, which were compared with the results of operations and histological examination. The results were identical between radiology diagnosis and histological diagnosis where the gave matching results .
