Within the framework of the plan of the University of Basrah- college of Medicine to develop its staff and improve its medical services in order to serve the community and the educational process of postgraduate studies ( Urology board) and preliminary studies

The Scientific Council for the Fellowship of Endo-Urological Surgery at the Arab Council for medical specialties , in cooperation with the Basrah college of medicine , held the third international  Endo-Urology conference at the  Halls of college of Medicine on Thursday, January 18, 2024, in the presence of the Member of the Parliamentary Education Committee, Mr. Yassin Al-Amiri, the President of the University of Basra, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, the Respected President of the Scientific Council for Urology at the Iraqi Council for Medical Specialties, the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Murtada Mohammed Saleh Al-Mosarer, a number of members of the University Council, the deans of Anbar  and Nineveh Medical Colleges,, and other important personalities, including the Director General of the Basra Health Directorate , the President of Physicians, the head of Basrah doctors syndicate and members of the Iraqi Urological Society

The conference included several important researches and scientific topics that were presented by urologists from various governorates of Iraq in addition to international speakers.

Among the most important recommendations of the conference that came out:

1. Holding the conference annually

2. The need to pay attention to the sub-specialities , just like developed countries, through the sponsorship of fellowships allocated to this and the establishment of specialized centers equipped with the latest equipment.

3. Introducing robotic surgery to Iraq like neighboring countries, especially in newly established hospitals.

4. Holding workshops on developments in laparoscopic surgery

5. Forming joint committees from the Ministries of Higher Education and Scientific Research  and ministry of health to lay the foundations for the advancement of these subspecialties, infrastructure development and postgraduate studies through the dispatch of board students to globally advanced centers to acquire skills and initiation of  the one track  study programs to  obtain theses sub- specialties in laparoscopic surgery.

6. Sponsoring professors with perspective skills and providing the needs and infrastructure for their work

7. Directing a letter of thanks and appreciation to all those in charge of this important scientific event.

The conference included some social events such as visiting the sports city, football fields, the light city and the Basra Corniche to show the sights of our beautiful city to our visitors from  the provinces of iraq and foreign countries and highlight it’s beauty .
