Participation of the University of Basrah - College of Medicine in the third annual scientific conference for early detection of congenital heart defects

 Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Health, Professor Dr. Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi, and under the slogan (Together we preserve the hearts of our children), the Al-Rahma Childhood Health Organization (NGO) held the third annual scientific conference for early detection of congenital heart defects, in the presence of deans of medical colleges, Iraqi, Arab and foreign cardiothoracic doctors, and the organization  World Health Organization, the director of Sidra Qatar Hospital, Arab and international universities, the deanship of the colleges of (Al-Mustaqbal, Al-Ameed, and Basra), and the Iraqi, Arab, and international medical associations.

 Dr. Iman Al-Obaidi, head of the Mercy Organization, expressed the highest meaning of loyalty and dedication in order to save these children. The idea began to include hospitals and primary health centers.
 The Dean, Professor Dr. Murtadha Mohammed Saleh Al-Musafer, chaired the first scientific sessions of the conference
 The Head of the Internal Medicine Branch in our college, Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul Amir Abdul Bari Al Ameri, also chaired another scientific session.
 The conference included holding a number of lectures and scientific workshops by specialized doctors from Iraq and Arab and international countries, in addition to holding an exhibition to display the latest international products in the field of open-heart surgery.
 The Dean of the College was honored with a shield for his active participation in the conference, and the conference produced a number of scientific recommendations that would develop the reality of congenital heart defect operations and their early detection.
 The conference was completed with the arrival of a large number of specialist doctors from inside and outside Iraq to Basra, and the holding of workshops and a health campaign to detect congenital heart diseases in children in Basrah and at the Consulting Medical Center of the University of Basrah
