The Board thises entitled: Prevalence and clinical significance of accessory navicular bone in Basrah city (south of Iraq) was discussed at the University of Basrah - College of Medicine. The thesis presented by the student; Ali Fakher Falih, aims to detect prevalence and clinical significance of this bone in Basrah city , including the morphological variation and anatomical types with clinical presentation of symptomatic cases involving localized tenderness and flat foot deformity. The thesis concluded that there is a high prevalence of accessory navicular bone with high percentage of symptomatic cases in our culture in comparison with previous studies in different cultures and this require more studies to assess the response of management of the symptomatic cases.
