A research team from the University of Basrah, led by the President of the University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and the other team members, obtained a patent to enable them to produce a kit  to collect cough samples to examine the presence of the novel coronavirus from infected people. This patent is considered one of a series of patents carried out by the research team of the University of Basra under the direct supervision of the President of the University, Prof. Saad Shaheen.
