The  University of Basrah - College of Medicine, organizes a scientific symposium entitled: Human infection with bird flu viruses between the past and the present

The department of  Microbiology  of the  University of Basrah - College of Medicine, held a scientific symposium entitled: Human Infection with Bird Flu Viruses between the Past and the Present. The symposium included a lecture presented by the assistant prof. Dr. Firas Taha Mansour, in which the global epidemics that happened in the past and caused by infection with the bird flu virus were reviewed, in addition to focus on the spread of the virus in recent years. Various matters were also clarified, the most important of which are the types of strains present in birds, ways of transmission to humans, and ways to prevent disease. Emphasis was also placed on the continuous genetic evolution of bird flu viruses, which in turn leads to the emergence of new strains over time.
Many questions were discussed and answered in an accurate scientific manner.
