Today, Thursday, November 18, 2021, the Deanship of the College of Medicine, the University of Basrah, represented by the Dean, Prof. Mortada Muhammad Salih Al-Musafir, visited the state care homes represented by the Orphan Care Home and the Blind Care Home. The visit was in coordination with the Student Activities Division at the college represented by the Director of the Student Activities Department, Prof. Dr. Qusay Al-Dirawi, the Assistant Professor Dr. Galal Abdulzahra, the Arts Instructor Intisar Abdel Majid, and a group of college students, accompanied by meals, gifts and winter clothes for the house’s guests. Since 1990, Universal Children's Day has been celebrated as the anniversary of the date of the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child and its related convention. Universal Children's Day was proclaimed in 1954 as a universal occasion to be celebrated on 20 November every year.
