The Diseases and Forensic Medicine Department of the College of Medicine, University of Basrah, held a scientific symposium on the latest diagnostic developments used in pathology. The symposium dealt with the latest developments in tissue pathology, hematology, and methods of detection, aiming at raising knowledge among specialist doctors, practical advancement for graduate students, and benefiting from the expertise of specialized doctors, as well as disseminating modern and valuable information to all doctors. The symposium included delivering 3 lectures from Before the teaching of the Diseases and Forensic Medicine Department, the first lecture was presented by Prof. Dr. Jassim Muhammad Al-Dhiyab, Head of the Diseases and Forensic Medicine Department, on the latest methods of classifying pituitary tumors and the modern diagnostic methods used to identify the various types of these tumors and their clinical importance on the health and future of the patient. As for the second lecture. The lecturer, Dr. Alaa Abdel-Razzaq, gave her an interview about the modern generation of the flowmetric device and its importance in diagnosing various types of cancerous blood diseases and its new features over the old generation of this device. As for the third lecture, it was given to the teacher, Dr. Saad Abdel-Baqi, about the latest method of classifying type B lymphomas and the methods used in diagnosing these new types. There was a discussion by the audience for the lecturers after finishing these lectures.
