The Obstetrics and Gynecology Branch at the College of Medicine, Basra University organized a scientific symposium on blood clots during pregnancy. The symposium aims to explain the causes and risks of a blood clot during pregnancy and how to treat it. The symposium included two lectures, the first discussed the risk factors for blood clotting and how to treat these cases when they occurred, while the second dealt with how to prevent these cases and the interventions used for this purpose. The symposium recommended the need to emphasize the diagnosis of the patient’s risk factors in order to give her anticoagulant drugs to reduce the occurrence of these dangerous conditions.
