The University of Basrah will host one of the students of the University of Birmingham to conduct a training course in the College of Medicine

 

The University of Basrah will host student Kawthar Mohsen from the University of Birmingham to conduct a training course in the college of medicine under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ali Rahim Hashim consultant in Neurology and General Internal Medicine.

The proposed schedule for the training course, which starts from 22/4/2024 to 20/5/2024, will be to conduct a daily ward  tour , weekly lectures and the journal club with enrolment in clinical or simulated demo teaching twice a week, in addition to the student's attendance at the meeting of the department of Neurology Medicine scheduled for Tuesday.

She  will also join the optional activities, including:

1. On-call shadowing 

2.  weekly outpatient clinic (either internal medicine or neurology)

3. Neurophysiology clinic weekly (either EEG or EMG)

4. MBBS lectures and bedside sessions observation 

The supervisor professor specified the number of working hours at an average of 6 hours per day distributed over 5 days, which included: Sunday to Thursday from 8:30 am to 2 pm.

The research topic will be within optional participation in any of the ongoing research projects (either assisting with data collection, drafting, review and editing)
