The Internal Medicine department at the college of Medicine at the University of Basrah held a scientific symposium for dermatology entitled: The New in Dermatology under the auspices of the President of the University of Basra, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the college of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Murtadha Mohammed Saleh Al-Musafer. The symposium, which was moderated by Prof. Dr. Khalil Ismail Al-Hamdi, discussed the latest developments in skin diseases and what is reflected on treatment methods and diagnostic means. The symposium recommended that the uncommon symptoms of common skin diseases should be observed, as the disease may appear uncommon, which requires attention to such cases, their dissemination and treatment in the right ways. There are also few-occent diseases that exist in our society. Specialized doctors and trainees in dermatology know them, record them, and inform other doctors about them. Dermatologists must have a high standard for detecting and diagnosing skin diseases and highlighting the possibilities of their presence in our society.
