Board research at Basra University College of Medicine discussed evaluation of the effect of hepatic pressure and negative leg lift on dimensions of the right internal jugular vein using ultrasound. The research presented by student Muhammad Jamal Jasim aims to evaluate the effect of negative leg elevation and hepatic pressure on increasing the diameter and cross-sectional area of the right internal jugular vein.
The research concluded that the hepatic pressure is significantly superior and statistically significant to the effortless leg lift in terms of increasing the diameter and the transverse area of the right internal jugular vein, especially in adult males regardless to age and weight
